Threading Our Way Through...

Yesterday, as I sat in front of the tv with Mr.Hubby after buka puasa, he said there’s a new kid on the block (meaning there’s a new worker at his office). So? The History Channel I was watching was much more interesting.

“Dia dah bercerai,” he said. That statement would catch anyone’s attention... certainly caught mine.

Alarm bells started to go off...donno exactly why tapi that’s probably just me being paranoid. Carefully, I asked... “Mengapakah perkara itu menarik perhatian abang?” Yes, exactly in that skema way.

He said that when he saw her, he wouldn’t have guessed that she was a divorcee coz she was very young. How young? “Entah. Tak Tanya pun. Ni smua Puan Baya (his bos) dengan Kak Chom (his ever-so-faithful clerk) yang bgtau.” Ooo...so it wasn’t Mr.Hubby who started nosing around. If an organization collapses, you blame the CEO. If a marriage collapses, you really should blame the 'ketua keluarga'...but in my strange society, it's still the girl that gets the blame 'tak pandai jaga suami'. Huh. Nyampah. “Dia pindah sini pun sebab nak jauhkan diri daripada bekas suami dia,” Mr.Hubby said.

Isn’t facing a divorce almost like facing a death sentence? Almost...except that as long as you are alive, there is always hope. You have to find the strength to move on. In our hope to try to start anew, we leave behind all the places that would bring back the memories, be it good or bad. And usually, it’s the girl that’s on the run...till she finds peace.
